A passion for Design

My love for design sparked with my subscription to Pinterest. My parents were my other stepping stones into design. My father has an endless drive for projects and entrepreneurship, which lead him into real estate. He would lease out his properties and then fix them up for new renters. My mother caters to a wide range of design needs when it comes to parties, events and weddings at her restaurant. She also moved our family away from the city and closer to the waves, which is where my coastal style emerged from, Yet, our home was a place where minor fixes and bandages were made and I dreamed of remodeling one day. It had painted black floors, enclosed kitchen-living and dining space, not functional for our family or lifestyle. After deciding to leave my out of state university and come back to California for school, I had the time to draw out and create a vision for my parents remodel, which they planned to start the following spring. Having no experience or understanding of home remodels, my ideas evolved continuously. After meeting with a structural engineer, general contractor and cabinet maker I was able to find websites with free design planners in order to relay my ideas and thoughts. This is where proficiency in AutoCAD would have come into play. However, I had plans to attend the University of San Diego in the fall with a focus on Political Science, therefore, I worked with what I had. And what I had was a passion for design. Since the remodel, I have graduated with my BA in Political Science and transitioned my focus to all things design. From working on small scale projects to complete remodels I am focussing all my energy creating my own brand, style and company. Come up soon for more updates :)
